Moon and Beyond - Sachin Tendulkar

On 29th May 1953, Sir Edmund Percival Hillary was the first man to put his foot on the colossal Mount Everest. Man's quest to scale bigger heights took Neil Alden Armstrong to the moon on the 20th July 1969. These men had one thing in common - the passion to perform and the determination to excel. History shall remember them as men who ran that extra mile to be at a place where no one had dared to. Sachin Tendulkar is a man of such school.

Sachin Tendulkar surpasses many a mile stones to be at the pinnacle of Cricket history. His every run in the game of cricket is a small step but a giant leap to a position where only he can. He dwarfs every cricket record and he has not yet finished. The first double century of one day cricket on this planet by this maestro is a treat to million of his fans world over. While he wets his appetite for more runs his fans revel in greed and there is a roar - "once more, once more".

His bat caresses the ball with poetic justice and the sound of the willow is music to the ear. His batting is poetry in motion and the roar of the applause is deafening in the cricket stadium. For Tendulkar this may be cricket for a cricket fan it is sheer passion, dedication and sacrifice of the highest order. That he is a great human makes him a complete achiever.

Cricket is about the game and records. Records are made to be broken, some day, some one will do it and say "me too", but like Hillary and Armstrong, Tendulkar would be remembered for his first foot prints. That he is human not many want to know, as they continue to worship the phenomena Sachin Tendulkar.
